About EnTeam

EnTeam Organization Background

EnTeam Organization was founded as a non-profit enterprise in 1995 in St. Louis, Missouri by Ted Wohlfarth.  Since then, EnTeam has served schools, after-school programs, businesses, families, camps, faith groups by providing collaborative games that increase productivity by strengthening social skills and academic skills

EnTeam Games are designed to build players’ skills in developing their own strategies for strengthening their learning.  EnTeam Games encourage players to bring out the best in each other by keeping score on a win-win basis — rather than a win-lose basis.

EnTeam Games keep score of improvements in cooperative performances. In traditional games, one side can only win if the other side loses.  In EnTeam Games, both sides win — or both sides lose — depending on whether they can increase the combined scores they achieve in a series of games.  To increase their scores, they must get better at helping each other.Playing EnTeam Games helps people shift mindsets and create a new paradigms for competing against problems.

EnTeam Games are competitive, but the competition is against an impersonal opponent (e.g. time, distance, prejudice, disease, fear, ignorance or other objective problem).  The score is kept on a win-win-or-lose-lose basis instead of win-lose basis.

EnTeam is a 501(c)(3) organization serving schools and youth programs in-person and online.  Originally, EnTeam programs started in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  More recent EnTeam programs have served schools in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Washington DC plus Quito, Ecuador.

EnTeam is on the Registry of Quality Vendors designated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Our Services

EnTeam Games
EnTeam creates and facilitates cooperative games that encourage players to work together. These games are used as tools that increase academic achievement and improve positive behavior in students in classroom settings. EnTeam Games also encourage diversity, inclusivity, and equality. These have been played thousands of times in After-school programs, mainstream and special education classrooms, sports teams, and more!

Professional Development Workshops
EnTeam workshops give educators experience facilitating EnTeam Games that encourage cooperation among students — and collaboration with colleagues.  If you have EnTeam PD workshops during the school day with students, teachers can observe the games in action.  Teachers see how the students respond to gamified learning.  When teachers have the support of a co-facilitator, the transition to game-based learning accelerates.

Bridge-Building Leagues
A Bridge-Building League is a series of contests in which players from different classrooms, schools, organizations, or agencies, play EnTeam Games – games that keep score of improvements in cooperation. The games may be academic games or games that build social skills or both. The purpose of a Bridge-Building League is to strengthen players’ ability to achieve goals collaboratively with other students — especially students who come from different backgrounds.
